First Computer User Interface?

Niki

Check out this collection of photos detailing the user interface of the Xerox Star 8010 workstation on its launch in 1981. Not sure if this is the first computer user interface, but dang…its VINTAGE! Check out more shots here.

I did a project on GUIs not too long ago. Technically this was the first full-featured interface, but the idea of using a mouse to click and do things actually goes back further to a tower that made a paint-like program. Super Paint?

It was in the late 70’s

    First computer user interface‽
Heck no, not even the first GUI.
It was however the first really commercially viable, and available GUI.

Excellent! The basic principles haven’t changed all that much!
