Mezzoblue designer Dave Shea speaks about the pleasures and pain of running a huge event like Web Directions North.
After the first year in 2007 I had suspicions, then the frenzy of activity leading up to the second year in early 2008 really confirmed it: running an event of this size is a full time job, and it’s not the sort of work I want to be doing long term.
Dave also includes a $50 off code if you are planning on hitting the event next year in Denver.

Designer Veerle Pieters business site Duoh! has just undergone a redesign overhaul. It’s been in the works for almost a year now – kind of like the mechanics car that never gets fixed :)
The new design really grabs, but what is almost as interesting is Veerle’s blog post about how they ended up with the final design. It’s worth checking out.
Maybe I’m a bit biased, but this is a great post about designers shoes and color schemes! Go check it out: Just For Kicks: Color Inspiration.
